Last Friday I rode to work and on the way home got caught in a thunderstorm. After dodging 2 trucks and a woman who went around a corner in front of me without looking, I managed to slide off a steel grate in front of a 7/11 and attempt to break my thigh/hip, & shoulder on the side walk. This kept me off the bike Saturday & Sunday as I hobbled around the house trying to make the pain go away.
Feeling guilty having not ridden over the weekend and not wanting to fork out for petrol, I rode to work Monday & Tuesday…again getting caught in the rain on the way home.
Knowing that I was going to burn myself out at training tonight, I drove to work today.
Training: Many new faces… Too fast for me. I think I came 3rd twice out of the 10 laps but was nowhere near winning any of them. One poor breakaway by myself but got caught just near the tunnel entrance.
Think I’lll try and ride to work tomorrow and Friday if possible and that will have me in fine form for Sunday’s last race of the year. The Tokyo Enduro…
7192km so far this year…don’t think I’m going to get to 8000km. 7500km will be 1000 more than last year.
From Sunday, I’ll have to get into serious running training. I’ve lost a bit of weight in the last 2 weeks as well. Mostly due to having no cash available to buy lunch.
