Last night was cold as usual and I took the Fondriest for a spin with the Garmin. On my warm up lap I tried to set a mark (in the Garmin) for the sprint (110m) inside the tunnel and then another mark on the finish line. The problem with this though is the GPS signal can’t find its way into the tunnel. This is a shame as it ruins all the data. The higest speed is in the tunnel and the lap starts and finishes as well. I may have to keep using the Polar HRM and not sell it like I planned on.
Our Semas night training had been abondoned due to coldness and the Seo Festival is over too. Therefore a few of the keen Semas riders came along as well and hope to continue training with the other teams.

We use mixi to communicate the weekly training schedules and although I’ve been a member of mixi for 2 years, this is the first time I’ve found it to be of any use to me. The community is called 野田ナイトクリテ! which says Noda Night Criterium!
I may have been a bit tired from the gym work out or just too slow but I only had a chance in one sprint and ended up coming 2nd anyway. Could see the 3 breakaways ahead looked a bit tired and they were jossling to force each other to lead. I swooped up to them and 2 of them died off. Wily Gin-san held me off to the finish line. Timing these sprints is really difficult. Some nights I get the timing good but most nights I follow the wrong person or try to do too much by myself or wait till it’s too late. I can say that the the weekely sprints can only improve me. Not often to get such great sprint training and I want to make the most of it.
Off tomorrow again and will go to the gym after lunch. The dogs will have a 2km jog in the morning. Tokyo Marathon countdown….
