Very cold! Neck warmer, summer shirt, winter shirt, rugby socks, skull cap, long SUBARU winter pants, shoe covers…
Took my time getting ready,so there was no time for warming up. Tonight, there were 7 of us.
One first timer who got a bit of a shock with the surging intervals unlike our Sunday morning one out sprint.
Still angry at my Saiko performance, I wanted to let off some steam, so it was straight to the lead for the first 3 laps pulling everybody along at a speed a bit faster than our usual warm up.
We didn’t do any intermediate sprints but occasionally the pace was picked up and there were some attempts by a few of us to stir up the rhythm with half hearted break away attempts. Each attempt foiled by watchful wheel suckers. This kept the over all pace higher than normal and for me it was one of the hardest night trainings I’ve done. Too tired at the end to take on Aki in the final head wind sprint but managed to hold on for 2nd place. 41.5kms and I’m supposed to double up tonight and go again with the Apex crew.
