Seeing as Santa may get in our way tomorrow night we held our Noda Night Criterium training tonight. I didn’t wear my shoe covers so my feet are still feeling bad as I type this now. I got my shoes off and knew my toes were a little numb. Then in the shower mixing my icy cold toes with hot shower water it suddenly felt like I had my toes bashed with a hammer. Excrutiating pain. Is that what frostbite feels like. I had to sit down and grip my toes and moan. The mixed signals of heat and cold to the brain caused a rash to break out on my feet and annkles. Ouch!
I didn’t feel too good with the riding either as I hadn’t ridden since the 14th Tokyo Enduro, my hip is still playing up from my crash a few weeks ago and the bike was still not completely clean from the Enduro and the chain was a bit squeaky. Only had a chance of winning one sprint and I blew that and came 3rd. Came 3rd in one other and didn’t even try with the others. Got dropped on the last lap and took the Semas short cut up the hill (and still couldn’t get in front of them).
43.2km tonight. No much needed warm up. My Garmin 705 says my top speed was 98.7kph, my max HR was 185, average HR 141 cadence a pitiful 78, 1834 calories burned, over 1 hour 27 minutes, with a break for talkies.
My toes are now feeling normal again as I finish off this post. Tomorrow the Tokyo Marathon must come to the top of the agenda. Need to lose some weight, get the shoes on and go go go.
