Almost always kite flying weather where we live. Right by the river by a park. No large trees and far away from power lines. Today was windy as usual.
On New Year’s Day while I was resting my weary legs, my father in law made a kite for our nephew. My wife painted the octopus on it and from bits of pieces or plastic and paper lying around the house a kite that would cost a fortune was constructed. The main sail being made of Japanese washi paper that was to be used on the sliding screens for the house.
The pun with the octopus is all lost in translation. Kite in Japanese is TAKO. Octopus in Japanese is TAKO.
