Woke up at six thirty and it was cloudy. Left at seven and it was sprinkling. Arrived at seven thirty and it was raining. 4 people there to hear it had been canceled. (as expected). At least I got in 26km at a moderate to fast pace and home for a shower. Then took the […]

Thursday Night Training 2009 11 13
There were about 8 riders tonight. Next week the Thursday night training may turn into Wednesday nights. Tuesday & Wednesday back to back is going to be hard but I get to sleep in a bit on Thursday nights. Didn’t plan on going hard tonight but found myself leading a sprint and dead heated for […]
Tuesday Night Training
Getting too cold for most. Arrived about 8:30 and did a slow 15km warm up. 9p.m and no show from the Apex team. (hibernation?). My team started rolling up from 9:10 to 9:40 but we didn’t get started till close to 10pm. I didn’t want to go too hard so concentrated on cadence, drafting and […]
Hakuba Training
My brother and I did a nice 63km of ups and downs in the mountains of Hakuba. The Autumn leaves were still beautiful, unlike last year when we were up here for the same weekend and all the leaves had disappeared. The route: Meitetsu to Tsugaike. Tsugaike to the top of route 406. Top of […]
Tuesday Night Training 2008 10 28
Was feeling good tonight and went and did a 15km warm up by myself and then joined the Apex crew for their 10 laps when they arrived at 8:55pm. Seeing as I was warmed up already, I decided it was a good chance to win the first sprint, and I did. Yay! 2nd sprint I […]
Saturday Castle
Did my usual castle ride. 20km each way. Lots of high school kids blocking the whole path on the way so came home on the opposite side. Japan Cup tomorrow. 43km in total.
Rain!
I couldn’t go to training tonight due to rain so went to the gym instead. Seeing as I tentatively entered the Tokyo Marathon I’ve added a tiny bit of running to my regime. Tonight I warmed up on the running machine for 20 minutes before hitting the other machines. abdominal crunch machine 45kgs X 15 […]
Sekiyado Castle
Sekiyado Castle I almost ride here every Saturday morning or whenever I have time to do a 40km TT. It’s exactly 20km from my front door, straight up the Edo river to the end where the Tone river meets.
Noda to Hakuba
If I get all my work done by Wednesday morning and the weather is good, I plan on a long ride to Hakuba. Will be a good test for my Garmin 705. First I need to buy a battery USB adaptor to make sure it won’t go flat when I’m lost in the mountains at midnight in the […]
