Was feeling good tonight and went and did a 15km warm up by myself and then joined the Apex crew for their 10 laps when they arrived at 8:55pm. Seeing as I was warmed up already, I decided it was a good chance to win the first sprint, and I did. Yay! 2nd sprint I didn’t contest. 3rd sprint I thought I had it in the bag but was pipped at the post by about 3cm. 4th to 9th sprints I stuck with the pack but didn’t really have a chance so just cruised in mostly. 10th I tried again and was pipped again for 2nd. Was feeling the strongest I have ever been for at least the last 4 years. Peaking just right for Saiko (I hope). Only 2 Semas guys turned up for the 9:30 start and I tried to get them to join us as we passed them each time but they didn’t jump on the back and went off and did their own training. After I finished the 10 laps with Apex I went and did the final lap with the Semas boys too. All up 63km of Tuesday night training.
Lots of nice sprints. Cadence is still terribly low. Maybe too late to fix that before Saiko. Max heart rate is still low which means I can put in more effort than I have been. I should be able to get it up to 194 on the finish line at Saiko if all goes to plan. The sprints in the tunnel at Shimizu Koen are slightly uphill which is extra good training. Max of about 50kph in the tunnel tonight.
Started out around 8:30p.m and got home just after 11.:00p.m
6329km Total this year.
