The weather was great this morning and I wanted to ride South and up to the tops of the mountains overlooking Lake Aokiko. Had my usual breakfast at Gusto and whilst driving home I went to see if I could find the roads to the top of the mountains. I drove to Lake Aokiko and did a lap of the lake. Still not being able to find the roads up I went home and took the dogs for their morning walk.

I had to get on the bike and opted for a tour of Hakuba’s back roads on the MTB at a leisurely pace. From Creek House bit of off road onto the river between Meitetsu and Misorano.

The top road across to Echoland. Up the back to the Mominoki Hotel where they still had KevRock posters up. The long weekend was busy up here in Hakuba with traffic jams along the main roads but today everybody was back at work and it was like a ghost town. Most shops were closed.

I then went across to Tsugaike and checked on my friend’s home there. (no problem) then coming down to 148 I ran over a little snake. Back tracked to see if he was Okay but he had already disappeared.


Next stop was the foot spa. Also deserted.

Then mossied along back home to some thirsty dogs and a nap. No lunch today!

On the way home I saw this little coffee shop and in its garden path were two little signs.
