Nine starters but the support crew from Seo Cycle ( 5 riders) were on strike and didn’t come. Something about having the day off tomorrow.
You can see on the garmin data player how the pace was. Knowing that the two attackers were absent today meant it was going to be easier than normal. There were a few half hearted attacks but none stuck and we all stuck together till the end. On the last two laps I tried to put a bit of hurt into everybody with some lame attacks but made sure I was not going to burn myself out either.
Into the last straight and I was sitting about 4th or 5th and felt fine. A long sprint started (much too early) and all I had to do was stick with the two strongest and then let fly at the end. The data says a high of 63kph but I can only find 56kph on the finish line. Don’t know where the 63kph comes from. Wasn’t me.
The long rides of late paid off tonight. Just heard I don’t need to go to work tomorrow either so can plan for tomorrow nights sprint training now. I haven’t been to that for 2 weeks now.
