Sunday July 26th (yesterday), I went to watch the Ogawamura JBCF races. Ogawamura is my favorite place to ride the mountains up here near Hakuba. The course for the race was parallel to the road I normally ride and just as steep and curvy. These guys have guts to go full pelt down the tight snake bends and extra strong to power up the steep mountain sides. Not once either as they had to do laps.
I missed the main event which has a few pro teams in it as it was starting to rain a bit and I had to get home to meet a courier driver who had the keys to my roof racks whih had my bikes held hostage for the 2 days.
I met a SEO racer who is actually a sprinter and both he and I learned a quick lesson that this race is not for sprinters. I wonder if he will try again next year. He was in the ER division which is entry level for this association. The level of racing here is much higher than JCRC.
