Sekiyado Castle I almost ride here every Saturday morning or whenever I have time to do a 40km TT. It’s exactly 20km from my front door, straight up the Edo river to the end where the Tone river meets.

Last time was 2006 when I did the 500m TT and 1000m TT. Today I did the same plus the 4000m scratch group race. Results: 500m TT 43.2 seconds….25th out of 38. 1000m TT 01.25.80…29th out of 53 which was exactly 1.38 seconds slower than what I did in 2006. Very disappointed. 4000m scratch race.

Took the long weekend up to Hakuba with my son, dog & brother from Singapore. There is a nice hill climb from central Hakuba up the old route 406 towards Nagano. It’s only about 13km to the top from the house we stay in and there is about 8 or 9km of climbing involved to
