Finally managed to slip away from puppy duties and get on the bike. It was a fast paced training. I did 10kms before the others arrived then we started about 9:30pm.
One guy escaped on the first lap and we never caught him. We tried pretty hard to catch him too.
Considering I hadn’t been on the bike for 2 weeks my fitness was good. I did a lot of hard work pulling the bunch and only got dropped after I’d done a big pull and 2 guys broke away dragging the other 2 guys with them just as I’d peeled off for a rest. I almost got back to them about 3 times but trying to was killing me and on the last lap I let them go.
I think I’ll be back to close to 100% by next week. Especially if I start doing the 5:30a.m trainings with the ‘other’ club near me.
Took the heart rate monitor but don’t think I’ll look at it tonight. I think I’ve put on 2 or 3 kgs since the Tokyo Marathon. I’ve had a bad cold and just been sitting around puppy sitting. Need to go to the gym tomorrow…
This Spring vacation will be over before I do anything constructive.
My thighs are a bit bloated. Feels good.
