About a year ago when I first joined the gym for the 5th time I got in the pool. My bad shoulder was grating like it had a handful of rocks in it and since then I hadn’t been back. After a year on the chest expansion machine the shoulder pain eventually disappeared and the strength came back. I wanted to go to the gym tonight just to have a sauna and stretch but at the last minute decided to go up the stairs to the 2nd pool (a small 15m one) that I’d never bothered to look at before. The main 25m pool is always chocabloc with kids and mothers so I kept away from it.
I did a few laps and adjusted my leaky goggles and before I knew it I had swam a kilometer. Shoulder was like new. Breathing was a bit rusty but I felt good. This is going to be a new addition to the weekly program. I had a 7 minute sit in the sauna before and after the swim.
Look out 1st triathlon here I come.
